As per UPSC 2024 notification ,Civil Services Examination(CSE) is to be conducted on May 26,2024 for which UPSC Notification has been released on Feb 14,2024 .The UPSC IAS Mains exam will be conducted in September 2024 . After the completion of each stage of examination (Prelims , Mains , Interview ) their result , cut-off marks (for each category ) , Answers Keys , Qualifying marks will be uploaded on upsc.gov.in.As per UPSC Notification 2024 ,the number of vacancies to be filled through the Civil Services Examination is expected to be approximately 1056.

The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.

Both the question papers will be of objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration.
The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33% ( 66 marks ).
The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.

UPSC Prelims 2024 – Syllabus

UPSC Prelims examination comprises of 2 exams General Studies Paper 1 which is cut-off based & General Studies Paper 2 or Civil Services Aptitude test (CSAT) which is qualifying in nature .Both exams are of 200 marks & objective in nature.

UPSC CSE Prelims General Studies Paper 1 - (200 marks)

Current Events of National and International Importance.
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
General Science.

UPSC CSE Prelims General Studies Paper 2 - (200 marks)

Comprehension; Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills.
Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability. Decision Making and Problem Solving. General Mental Ability.
Basic Numeracy (Numbers and their Relations, Orders of Magnitude, etc.)
(Class X level). Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level).
