The Mains Examination is of total 1750 Marks out of which cut-off is prepared every year on merit basis from seven papers ( except 2 papers which are qualifying in nature ) but it is important to note here that if candidate fail to score atleast 75 marks (25%) out of 300 marks each in English compulsory & Indian Language compulsory paper then their remaining Answer sheets won’t be evaluated.

Though UPSC does not have any specific syllabus for Interview but as a serious candidate one should prepare for each stage of examination seriously, especially for Interview as it is final stage of exam . Detailed Application form (DAF) – In all 3 stages of examination, Candidate have to fill DAF two times- DAF I & DAF II when candidate clear Prelims (to apply for Mains examination ) and Mains examination (to apply for Interview ) respectively.
